Information Literacy Day - 2018 Activities

This year THEME: Literacy and Skills Development Keeping the ILD theme in mind, the Elementary students got an opportunity to exhibit, expose their skills and talent in the form of conducting an ILD survey with our school Maids and Drivers. Both Grade -5 students felt very excited when they were asking literacy relevant question to them. They Inquired about Education, Qualification, their Mother Tongue, Well know languages etc., In fact, this is a new experience and a wonderful opportunity for them to learn more about the global literacy.

Roald Dahl Birthday Activates - 2018 

In the context of the Roald Dahl Birthday i.e., 13th September, the Elementary school students had a great excitement during the week. Elementary students had gone through many Roald Dahl based fun activates during the library sessions. Students were encouraged to read his book collection, shown a documentary on Roald Dahl Biography and shown the best movies like Matilda, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The BFG. Also conducted Roald Dahl Challenging Characters activates with for Grade – 4 & 5 students, crossword for 2 & 3 students and character coloring for EC students as well.

Research Skills with Magazines: 3R's ( Read, Research and Reflect )

I have given a research-based activity for our Grade - 5 students during the library session. Each student has got a magazine to read, then explained to explore and research on the topic called Electricity and Magnetism.  The student was more excited by this activity by referring to the said articles and finally came up with an efficient and effective reflection.

This is the individual activity given to the student to test their knowledge and skills.
The student showed seriousness in finding an appropriate information in a given time.
They were independent and confident during the task.

Library Session for Reception

Book Title was One Ant, Two Ants.... was reading to Reception students during the library session, the story was based on counting the numbers till Ten.  After completing the book I am with the help their Grade teachers have given an activity of painting and design an Ant body with empty egg trays to them and they were really happy and enjoyed by this activity.
